I don’t know if anybody here has read John Connolly’s Charlie Parker novels (if you haven’t, drop everything you’re doing and go get them all—now—starting with Every Dead Thing). I decided to re-read them all from the first, which I hadn’t read since it came out over a decade ago.
Anyway, they’re amazing and wonderful, and the character of Charlie is one of the most well-written fictional characters EVER (not to mention his close friends, the gay couple Louis and Angel—hitman/thief/etc.). And I realised that this time around, I’ve TOTALLY been picturing Jensen as Charlie.
So Hollywood, please take note: if you make Charlie Parker movies, please get Jensen. He’s the ONLY person who could play this character. He’s the right age, and he could completely convey the depth and breadth needed for him; he is smart, funny, a smartass, a badass—but tortured and righteous and avenging.
THIS MUST HAPPEN.

So we just finished watching season 1 of Supernatural with two of our best friends tonight. They loved it (of course), and Laura (the girl-half of the couple) is a fangirl of many other fandoms of longstanding, so she’s used to this sort of thing. Conveniently, it turns out she’s a Sam girl, so she and I will balance out nicely. Now I have somebody to squee about the show with IRL. So exciting!
I need a favour—if anybody got a video of me doing 4 Non Blonde’s “What’s Up” at the Friday night Karaoke party at VanCon, I would love a link to it. I obviously couldn’t film myself, and I haven’t found any posted yet. So if you have one, or find one, if you could point me in that direction I’d appreciate it buckets. =D
I had a hunch when I was there, but it has just been confirmed, the church across the street from the hotel where VanCon was held IS THE SAME ONE WHERE 2.13 ‘Houses of The Holy’ WAS SHOT! ASDJASDK! There was a freaking supernatural landmark right next to where we all were!!!

Yeah, every time I went out for a smoke break, I made sure to tell people that that was the church. A surprising amount of them already knew—you crazy fandom people, you.
That’s the fun thing about living here in Vancouver—playing “spot the location” when watching episodes. ”Devil’s Trap” was filmed in the apartment building one over from ours, so it’s really weird to watch that episode. Every time I walk home and pass by there, I picture it with fire trucks and demons outside. =P
So apparently this exists.

And it is AWESOME. The episodes based on the original series’ shows are really well done, and the new “original” Japanese ones are excellent—they really keep to the tone and feel of the show, and yet make them all their own.
The production company is one of the best in Japan, and they really spared no expense in making this. They did radio shows to promote it, they got special guest stars for the voices (one of them was Gackt, a huge J-rock star over there), there’s a boatload of special features (including Jared and Jensen talking about the anime and their experiences in creating it), and the two Japanese voice actors for Sam and Dean are A-List stars as well.
Hubby and I are big anime nerds as well as Supernatural fans, and this gets two very big thumbs up from both of us.
I’ll be editing anime music videos with this, for sure.
At Jensen’s suggestion, I’m going to be releasing a new edit of this with him killing the big inflatable duck from VanCon this past weekend.
Because really, when Jensen suggests I change my video, who am I to argue? =D

I was there, I sang 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up”—-hope you see you around over the weekend. This was the best party EVER. I can’t believe how much fun I had.

Okay, here’s the video I’ve been working my butt off all week to complete. I got hit by a flash of inspiration last Friday as I was on my way to drop my duck off at the SPN shoot near my friend’s apartment. This vid had to be done.
This may be my magnum opus.
